Pope St. John XXIII Seminarian Pens a Book About Papal Diplomacy

Rev. Mr. John Tanyi of the Archdiocese of Boston has authored a book entitled The Cross and the Flag: Papal Diplomacy and John Paul II’s Struggle Against the Tyranny of the Possible.  Slated for publication by St. Augustine Press on June 28, 2024, the book is currently available for pre-order on Amazon. The book includes a foreword by Mary Ann Glendon and an afterword by George Weigel.

Ministry of Acolyte and Pacem in Terris Award

On March 15, 2024 Cardinal Seán O’Malley, OFM Cap., Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Boston, joined the Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary community to preside at the Ministry of Acolyte.

Nine Instituted into Ministry of Lector

On December 6, 2023, nine seminarians in formation at Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary were instituted into the Ministry of Lector by the Most Reverend Kevin J. Sweeney, Bishop of the Diocese of Paterson, New Jersey.

Rite for Admission to Candidacy for Four Seminarians

On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary was blessed to have the Most Reverend Earl K. Fernandes, Bishop of the Diocese of Columbus, Ohio, preside over the Admission to Candidacy for Holy Orders for four of our seminarians.

Record-Breaking Year at the 42nd Annual Lawn Party

On Wednesday evening, September 27th, over 300 guests gathered in the Mary Courtyard to celebrate the formation of Catholic priests at Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary - raising record revenue of over $400,000 to support the formation program.
