On Thursday, September 3, 2026, The Most Reverend Richard G. Henning, Archbishop of Boston, celebrated a Mass of the Holy Spirit with the Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary community. This Mass takes place each year and seeks God’s blessings on the community as we begin a new year of forming men studying for priesthood. It is always a joyful visit from the Archbishop. The day brings an energy that inspires us all to be focused and intentional in the work performed in support of the seminarians. The Mass was celebrated using both Spanish and English languages.

This year, the Mass also included the installation of Rev. Rendell Torres '10 of the Diocese of Albany and Rev. Jude Anyanwu, a Claretian Missionary, as full-time formators, while Rev. Carlos Suarez and Rev. Kevin Staley-Joyce, both of the Archdiocese of Boston, join us as adjunct professors. We look forward to their many contributions in forming seminarians and encouraging older men to answer God’s call to serve Him and His Church.

The year is now in full swing! Please pray for the seminarians, the faculty, and the staff for a fruitful formation year. And know that we pray for you.
