I am from Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria and am the youngest of nine children of Mr. George Akpan Umoh and Mrs. Bernadette George Umoh. I have four brothers and four sisters.

After completing my High School Education, I went on to study Nautical Science at Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Prior to beginning my seminary formation and studies, I worked onboard a ship, where I gained valuable practical experience at sea as a sailor and developed a strong foundation in maritime operations, navigation and seafaring. However, due to my strong desire to serve God as a Catholic priest, I resigned from my position as a sailor and began my formation and studies toward the priesthood. During my seminary formation, I completed various stages of formation including postulancy, philosophy studies, novitiate, pastoral experience and propaedeutic year. My missionary experiences in different countries and communities enabled me to gain valuable experience working with marginalized communities, assisting Internally Displaced Persons, caring for individuals with disabilities, and serving others in various pastoral capacities. I am currently pursuing a Master of Divinity and Ministry at Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary, Weston. I am confident that my seminary formation and academic studies at PSJS will deepen my understanding of the priestly vocation and provide me with a strong foundation in human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral formation, preparing me to serve the Church and the people with great love, compassion, and dedication.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and meditating on Scripture, singing, playing soccer, cooking, writing and listening to inspiring music. I also have a strong interest in guidance and counselling, and in providing pastoral care particularly to those who are seeking spiritual and emotional support.
