Before joining the seminary, Julio was an International tax attorney, working as the Partner-in-Charge of the capital markets division of several national firms. Before that, Julio was also a former member of the Society of Jesus.

Once ordained to the diocesan priesthood, Julio will work with his bishop in building bridges between the Catholic Pontifical University of Puerto Rico and the US, particularly in their law school and campus ministry. Julio also anticipates being involved in spiritual direction using Ignatian spirituality for those dealing with addictions.

Julio was asked by his bishop, Msgr. Angel Rios Mattos, to attend PSJ23, as the Diocese has a rich tradition of sending seminarians here.
