Prior to joining the Pope St. John XXIII community, I served as an attorney and as an educator.  I began my professional life as a legislative aide in the Massachusetts Senate, followed by more than twenty years in Boston Public Schools as a math teacher, instructional coach, and Union representative.

My sense of calling traces back to my earliest memories of childhood.  As a kindergarten-through-college Catholic school student, I observed the great example of the Sisters of Saint Joseph and our local priests, as well as the Jesuits, Holy Cross Fathers, and Franciscans.  In their unique ways and with an uncommon sense of joy, they modeled service to those at the margins who experience hardship and injustice. As Saint Francis might have said, they preached the Gospel by their varied deeds of love. Many of those good friendships have continued through the years.  Reflecting upon my own life's varied experiences and the wonderful community of family, friends, and colleagues I have known has increasingly informed this stage in the journey.

In my free time, I love to spend time with my wonderful family and countless friends from nearly every walk of life over the years.  I have a lifelong appreciation for reading, traveling, and paddleboarding along the coast of Cape Cod.
