Being from a practicing Catholic family and receiving the gift of Catholic education, Michael first heard the call to Priesthood in the eighth grade. His eclectic career and volunteer work brought him from Manhattan to the Washington DC area, then Arizona, Texas, and as far away as living in Asia, with pilgrimages to Bosnia, Ireland and Spain, and serving in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Mexico. Prior to entering the Seminary, Michael was living and serving in a Shelter/Soup Kitchen run by the Missionaries of Charity in New Mexico.
Two experiences with Jesus in the Eucharist, and one with Jesus ‘in the distressing disguise of the poor’ is what reignited Michael’s discernment journey, starting literally with 30+ hours traveling back to the United States. As our Lord is never outdone in generosity and always offers us better than we could have ever imagined for ourselves, Michael has been blessed and is beyond joyful to have received permission to be a Seminarian for the Diocese of Gallup, New Mexico and receive formation with the amazing people at Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary.
