I first felt an attraction to the priesthood in my early childhood and then throughout the ensuing years; always blocking it out, never believing it was a possibility for me. Pursuing a very busy career in music and music education, I was very successful, but often frustrated and never fulfilled or at peace. When the occasional thoughts of priesthood came, they were easily blocked out with work. Something was missing. Finally, through the grace of the Holy Spirit, I achieved clarity in the realization that I could not ignore this call. My discernment led me to Pope St. John XXIII Seminary. Whereas before I often doubted my decisions, I am now confident that all my past experiences are what God planned for me. Be not afraid, and listen to His voice.
