March 19, 2018 - Ten seminarians proclaimed the Solemn Oath of Fidelity and made their Profession of Catholic Faith as part of Evening Prayer on March 19th the Feast of St. Joseph. The service was presided over by Pope St. John XXIII Rector, Very Rev. Brian R. Kiely in our Alumni Chapel.
The faithful who are called to exercise an office in the name of the Church are required to make the profession of faith according to a formula approved by the Vatican. The ceremony is a necessary step prior to ordination to the Transitional Diaconate, as it documents the seminarian's willingness to uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church in the ministry he exercises.
