Jimmy Macalinao was born in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to California in 2004. He began his career as a religion teacher and then became the Director of Campus Ministry at St. Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda for ten years. Jimmy finished his Master of Theological Studies at Franciscan School of Theology in Berkeley and his Doctor of Ministry at Washington Theological Union in D.C. He is also an ordained permanent deacon in the Diocese of Oakland and he also served as deacon at St. Joseph Basilica Parish, Alameda. He is currently enrolled in the Class of 2017 studying for the Diocese of Oakland, CA.
