Admission to Candidacy, Rite of Acceptance

On February 22nd the Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary community celebrated as ten seminarians were accepted as worthy candidates for Holy Orders.  Mass was celebrated by the Most Rev. Allen Vigneron, Archbishop of Detroit. These men have been formally approved by their Bishops and will continue a year of study to be ordained as Roman Catholic priests.

Following the Mass and Rite of Acceptance, we gathered to share a wonderful meal prepared by our own chefs.  As can be imagined, these men were excited to welcome friends and family to the campus to help support their decision to listen and follow God’s call to be servants for Him in the Church.  Please continue to pray for them, and for all our seminarians answering God’s call.
